I still have that sewing themed fabric (made by indie designer Nancy Kers/VeryCherry on Spoonflower) I bought to make sewing kits from! Maybe I will finally get around to it…
reblogged from holly-go-brightly:
Sewing kit tutorial, handy!

This week I picked up some lovely lavender from my local Co-Op and am going to put some of it in this bird sachets I am making. The birds are my own fabric that I had printed by Spoonflower. The backing fabric for the sachets is a vintage lacey linen.
A little drawstring bag I made using fabric from one of my favorite designers.
Don’t forget!! Today free shipping on Spoonflower.com! Beginning 8am ET for 24 hours.
Batch one is done of the cat toys I am making for an Orange Street Cats fundraiser (between fabric delays and then a sick tot, it feels like it has taken forever!). I decided my own furry beasts should do quality control and test one out. Judging from how crazy they went, I’d say the catnip and fleece backing fabric was a hit. I also received two “meows” up for the mouse design (an original drawing I had printed on fabric at Spoonflower).
My orange cat (Snickers) almost dived into the catnip container when I turned around for a minute. Luckily I stopped him in time! After that, the kitties had to stay locked in another room while I worked. So far I have discovered that the smell of catnip makes me want to be ill and that my cats are even more psychotic than I realized.
Check out this raffle with craft-packed, fun-loaded prizes! Besides me (Feathered Nest Studio) other generous prizes are from Spoonflower, Lark Crafts, Oliver + S, and more! :) Please click on the picture to visit Stumbles & Stitches blog and find out how to buy a raffle ticket to not only get a chance to win cool stuff but to help flood victims in Alabama and other Southern states.
Some of the mice I am working on as a fundraiser for Orange Street Cats, an awesome cat rescue group based in Albany, NY. I drew the mice and had them printed on fabric through Spoonflower. Now I am in the process of stitching them together with fleece backs and catnip in with their stuffing. I think I am going to have about 50 total. That’s a lot of happy kitties! :)
More views of my Kitty Cat Dolls.
My new Kitty Cat Dolls. I drew them and then had my design printed on fabric via Spoonflower. Just stitched them together during baby’s nap today. :)
